T : |
Hakà nee. |
That's true. |

90 |
A : |
Shii nèe. |

91 |
T : |
…sunàa fàahintàn àbìn dà kakèe nufìi. |

94 |
A : |
Bâa shakkàa. |
For sure. |
95 |
T : |
Wàllaahìǃ |

Really, when we arrived they were praying and calling upon God. It was just like the pilgrimage to Mecca, just like the pilgrimage we both went on this year. |
110 |
A : |
Shii nèe. |
That's so. |
111 |
T : |
Wàllaahi, ai àbîn, àbîn ban shà'awàa. Wàatàu sai maa sai kà ji wàatàu àbîn, wàatàu, yaa taɓàa makà zuucìyakkà. |

113 |
T : |
Wàllaahì, kàman ka koomàa kawài. Allàh yà nuunàa manà mài kyâu kawài, Allàh kuma yà kyautàtà farkonmù. |
It was just as if you'd gone to Mecca. May God give us grace. |

T : |
Wàllaahì kùwaǃ |
By God! |
116 |
A : |
Tôo, yàayàa Àbdùrràzâk? |

T : |
Àbdùrràzâk dai, nii, àbîn, gàa shi gàa shi wàatàu wasu abuubuwàa nan koo daidai yakèe fàaruwaa? Nii bàn gaanèe ba. |
As for Abdurrazak, well are things going well for him. I don't understand him. |

A : |
Àmmaa kaa san Àbdùrràzâk, naa gaỳaa mashì na cèe zaa mù zoo nân, Àbdùrràzâk ya cèe minì, "Ii, in Allàh ya yàrda," zài iyàa, zài gwadàa yà zoo. Àmmaa Àbdùrràzâk, àbîn dà ya yi minì nii bàn yi zàtoo zâ yi minì ba, naa yi mun taashì mun jee zaa mù ɗàuki Àbdùrràzâki, Àbdùrràzâk sai ya cèe wai shii yanàa kaɗà jìtaa. |
But you know Abdurrazak, I told him we would be coming here, and he said to me, "God willing", he would be able to come. But Abdurrazak, I didn't think he would do that to me, we went to pick up Abdurrazak and he said he was playing his guitar. |
119 |
T : |
Tôo, kaa ga kai, nan kusa maa dà kai, mooloo maa yakèe kaɗàawaa. |
Well you know he plays the guitar close by. |
120 |
A : |
Mooloo yakèe kaɗàawaa? |

121 |
T : |
Mooloo nèe mukà jee mukà sàamee shì yanàa kaɗàawaa. Kaa san nii dâa maa mun rigaa mun yi dà shii cêewaa lallee, lallee, lallee cêewaa kadà yà yàrda mù saaɓà àlkawàrinmù dà mukà yi wà waɗànnân mutàanee. |
We went and found him playing his guitar. You know that we agreed all along that we shouldn't break the promise that we had made to these people. |
122 |
A : |
Don kwàanàkin baayaa mun saaɓàa musù. |
Because we did break our last promise to them. |
123 |
T : |
Tôo, don mun saɓàa musù, koo bàa haka bà? |
Quite, because we broke that promise, didn't we? |
124 |
A : |
Gàskiyaa nèe. |

T : |
Kaa ga àbù nee wândà ya kàmaatà kai kanàa, à cêe, kai kanàa Mùsùlmii, bài kàmaatà à cêe kaa yi wà wani àlkawàrii ka saaɓàa ba, bà kà cikàa ba, koo bàa hakà ba? |
You know that if you are a Muslim, it shouldn't be said of you that you made a promise to someone but didn't keep it. |
126 |
A : |
Gàskiyaa nèe. |
That's true. |
127 |
T : |
Yaa zama sai dà mukà yi masà màganàa, muka faɗàa masà koomee, ya cèe, aa'àa, kâr mù dàamu, gàa shi, gàa shi lallee, lallee in zaa mù tàfi mù bi ta wurin îndà sukèe kaɗà moolòn nan mù jee mù ɗàukee shì. |
We talked to him and he said we shouldn't worry, when we set off we should go via the place where they play their guitars and pick him up. |
128 |
A : |
Tôo, kaa san àbîn dà zân gayàa wà Àbdùrràzâk in mun koomàa? |
Well, you know what I'm going to say to Abdurrazak when we return? |
129 |

130 |
A : |
Zân cêe, Àbdùrràzâk, bà zaa kà iyà yîn iyâ sheegèe ba fa Àbdùrràzâk. |
I'll say, Abdurrazak, you shouldn't play such tricks. |
131 |
T : |
Hakà nee fa. |
That's right. |
132 |
A : |
Àbdùrràzâk, tun dà kaa san bà zaa kà jee ba Àbdùrràzâk, mèe ya sâa bà kà gayàa manà tun faarì ba? Kaa san mun ƙoona maì. Ka ga na farkoo. |
Abdurrazak, since you intend not to go, why didn't you tell us in the first place? You know we used a lot of gas. That's the first thing. |
133 |
T : |
Hakà nee fa. |
That's right. |
134 |
A : |
Kaa san muu mun cêe zaa mù zoo muu huɗu, bà kà zoo ba. |
You know we said that the four of us would come, but you didn't make it. |
135 |
T : |
Hakà nee fa. |
That's right. |
136 |
A : |
Kaa ga na biyu? Kuma kaa san muu mun ɓaatà lookàcinmù har bà mù isoo nân daidai lookàcîn dà akèe sôo mù isoo ba. |
And you know the second thing? We wasted a lot of time and you didn't get here at the arranged time. |
137 |
T : |
Hakà nee fa wàllaahìǃ |
That's correct. |
138 |
A : |
Shii wànnan yanàa dà kyâu? |
And is that kind of thing proper? |
139 |
T : |
Ìnaa fa kyâu? |
How could it be proper? |
140 |
A : |
Kaa ga Àbdùrràzâk, zân cêe masà, "Àbdùrràzâk, tun dà dai kaa rigaa ka yi manà wànnan, ai, bà zaa kà ƙaarà yîi manà na biyu ba." |
You know Abdurrazak, I'll say to him, "Abdurrazak, since you've pulled this one on me, you won't do it again." |
141 |
T : |
Hakà nee fa. |
That's right. |
142 |
A : |
Duk rân dà mukà cêe mak, "Àbdùrràzâk, tun dà dai kaa rigaa kaa yi manà wànnan", ai, bà zaa kà ƙaarà yîi manà na biyu ba. |
Whenever we say to you, "Abdurrazak, get ready and let's go", you can be sure there will be no guitar playing. |
143 |
T : |
Hakà nee fa. |
That's right. |
144 |
A : |
In mun jee mun sàamee kà kuma, kanàa nan gàa shi mooloo, zaa mù ƙwaacèe… |
If we come to get you, and there you are with your guitar, we'll take it away from you… |
145 |
T : |
Zaa mù ƙwaacèe… |
We'll take it away… |
146 |
A : |
Zaa mù cikà shìgaa mootàa mù tafi. |
We'll get into the car and leave. |
147 |
T : |
Koo bàa hakà ba? Don ya zàmaanà kàm an saaɓà àlkawàrii, bâa shi dà daaɗii. |
Isn't that so? Because it is not good to break promises. |
148 |
A : |
Gàskiyaa nèe. |
That's true. |
149 |
T : |
Koo bàa hakà ba? |
Isn't that so? |
150 |
A : |
Koowaa maa, koowaa akà yi masà hakà, bâa daaɗii. |
Whoever is treated in that fashion, it's not good. |
151 |

Tôo, kaa ga nii, wàllaahì, dâa maa dà kukèe faɗàa manà ha linshì koo, bàn taɓà tsàmmaanìi hakà ba nèe, don nii, wàatàu à cikin zuucìyaataa, inàa ɗaukàn wàatàu shii yaa san àbîn da yakèe gùdaanàa, shii dai wàatàu yanàa ɗaukàn koomee à tàakaa tsantsan. |
Well, as for myself, when you were telling me about his character, I never thought that to be the case, for in my heart I thought he knew what he was about, that he was a responsible person. |
152 |
A : |
Hakà nee. |
Yes. |
153 |
T : |
Koo bàa hakà ba? Koomee ya shaafà ruwaa à gàbaanaa, inàa ganii. Koo bàa hakà ba? |
Isn't that so? Whatever concerns me, I'm aware of it. Isn't that so? |
154 |
A : |
Ii, tun farkoo kai bà kà gaanèe ba. |
Yes, but you never understood him from the start. |
155 |
T : |
Tôo, nii, kaa ga nii bàn ɗàuki àbîn nan ba. Nii dai, ai àbîn dà ya sâa na faɗàa makà kèenan, na cèe nii inàa tsàmmaanìi yanàa ɗaukàn tàakaa tsantsan, koo bàa hakà ba, koo nii maa inàa tùnàanii wani lookàcii ìn cêe, ii, àbìn dà ya kàmaatà mùtûm à duuniyàa, kar kà nuunà koomee yaa dàamee kà. |
Well, as I told you, I thought he was a responsible man, I thought that whatever a man does in this world, whatever bothers you, don't show it. |
156 |
A : |
Shii nèe ai, ai nii naa san Àbdùrràzâk. |

T : |
Yan kwàanàkîn nan biyu, sai ya zàmaanà wàatàu koomee, nii kàm wàllaahì tàllaahì, sai ya zàmaanà kàman bàa mùtûm ba kuma. |
During the last few days, by God, it's as if he's not a man at all. |
160 |
A : |
Allàh? |
Really? |
161 |
T : |
Wàllaahìǃ Tòo, mèeyeenèe mùtûm, ai wândà dâa maa, wândà in ya cèe, "Aa'àa, zân yi àbù kàzaa," zâi yi ƙooƙarii yà ga yaa yi, koo bàa hakà ba, in yaa yi àlkawàrii, yà ga yaa yi ƙòoƙarii yà cikà àlkawàrîn nan. |
Truly! Well what is a man? He's a person who, if he says, "No, I'll do such-and-such", will make sure that he does it, if he makes a promise, he will try to keep it. |
162 |
A : |
Gàskiyaa nee. |

165 |
T : |
Tôo. |
Fine. |
166 |
A : |
Àlkawàrii dai, doolè kà cikàa shi. |
You must keep a promise. |
167 |
T : |
Shii nèe. |
That's right. |
168 |
A : |
…in kaa cikàa ka cèe bà zaa kà iyàa ba… |

Fine don't give the promise, if you won't be able to do something, if you are asked, don't be afraid, if you're asked just say you won't be able to do it. |
170 |
A : |
Ai yà gayàa minì yà cêe aa'àa waanè kâr kù zoo, nii fa zân jee ta kiɗàn mooloo. |
Or he should simply say that we shouldn't come, that he's off to play his guitar. |

172 |
A : |
Tôo, kaa ga mèe zài kai kà wurin kiɗàn mooloo. |
I mean why should you go to the guitar place? |

Quite, and it's far away too. |
174 |
A : |

175 |
T : |
Doogon tàfiyàa ìrin wànnan, kà duubà dai shân mâi dà mootàa ta yi irìn wànnan, koo bàa hakà ba? Allàh dai yaa tàimàkee mù, mootàa maa, mootàa baa tàa shân mâi sòosai. |
A long journey like that one, look at the gas we used. But God has helped us, the car doesn't use up too much gas. |
176 |
A : |
Baa tàa shân mâi gàskiyaa. |
It's true, the car is economical. |
177 |
T : |
Koo bàa haka ba? |
Isn't that so? |
178 |
A : |
Gàskiyaa nèe. |
That's true. |
179 |
T : |
Àmmaa nii kàm, ai kàm, yaa raunànaa manà zuucìyaa. Bâa wândà zài saakè gayàa manà màganàa wai wani làabaarìi hakà akà yàrda. Don kaa ga dâa maa an cêe màganàa shii kàn yi mùtûm. Koo bàa hakà ba? |
But as for myself, he really has upset me. No one will play that trick on me again. Because you know you judge a man by his statements. Isn't that so? |
180 |
A : |
Ii. |
Yes. |
181 |
T : |

What a man says to you, there he is saying of course, of course he will do it. If he doesn't do it, his standing is lowered in your eyes. |
182 |
A : |
Àmmaa dai yànzu àbîn dà zaa à yi, sai à yàafee shì. |
But what we should do now is forgive him. |
183 |
T : |
Tôo, ai bâa dàamuwaa. |
Yes, no problem. |
184 |
A : |
Sai à yàafee shì. |
We should forgive him. |
