1. In order to properly view much of the textual material on this site, viewers will need a Unicode font installed on their system. Unicode fonts are a platform-independent means to encode and display a full range of alphabetic characters, including those found in the IPA. We particuarly recommend the following font for its ability to display combinations of accents and diacritics. It is available for free download from the Summer Institute of Lingustics:
